That’s why they’ve invested in gamification to bring their training materials to life and give staff the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.
Star Pubs first came to Attensi to create a program of game-based training for their 190 managed operator pubs across the UK. The training solution, Just Add Talent, provided a central hub for highly engaging training covering topics from health and safety to licensing compliance. Using Attensi SKILLS, Star Pubs ensured each module was optimized for mobile, allowing staff to access and repeat their training whenever and wherever they need to.

After successfully implementing Just Add Talent in their managed operator locations, Star Pubs is making game-based training available across all of its 2,200 leased and tenanted pubs.

As well as increasing the availability of the training, Star Pubs has expanded the suite of Attensi products they’re using to create, house and deploy their learning materials:
- Attensi PROCESS allows staff to practice using Star Pubs’ IT systems to in a safe space, allowing them to make mistakes and achieve mastery before moving on to the real thing.
- Attensi FAST is a web-based tool with AI co-pilot that allows Star Pubs to create their own bite-sized, game-based training without fuss.
- Attensi PORTAL is a central Learning Management System (LMS) that can house all of Star Pubs’ training materials (including game-based modules, PDFs, videos and more) in a central hub, with clear progression and learner journeys.
Within four months of nationwide roll-out, Star Pubs saw 1,700 active users, 195,000 playthroughs, and 85,000 modules completed. After becoming the first national pub company to put all Business Development Managers through game-based social media training, Star Pubs continues to prioritize learning and development with effective and engaging training solutions.
